Black-tailed Jackrabbit

Description:

Most of the times when I see these Jackrabbits they take off quickly. I was amazed this one stuck around for these photos. Black tipped inside long erect ears. Long front legs, strong long back legs. Dark tail with caramel color coat, with darker shading on back.

Habitat:

Open fields, meadows, prairies, deserts, urban as well as rural areas. Found near shrubs for shade.
