Apple Blossom Escalonia

Escalloniaceae

Description:

The Escalloniaceae is a family of flowering plants comprising about 130 species in seven genera. A reliable evergreen shrub with bright lime green leaves covered by apple blossom pink/white flowers in for long periods over summer & autumn. Ideal for a fast growing screen. Escallonia can either be left to fill a space in the border or be trimmed to form a loose hedge. Escallonia is especially happy near the coast in an exposed sunny spot.

Habitat:

Will tolerate a hot dry spot in demanding soil with a minimum of fuss on moist or dry soils. Avoid planting in areas prone to extreme cold.
