Woolly Waterlily or Frogmouth

Philydrum lanuginosum

Description:

Tufted plant with strappy leaves. This plant reminded me of a Kangaroo Paw (Anigozanthos sp.) but the flower was different. Flowers, yellow, born on a spike about 25cm high, they were sort of tucked away in what I assume are bracts.

Habitat:

Living in very wet soil beside a spoon drain on a cattle property.
