I know it's a bald eagle because after I took the pic it landed and I got a better look at it. But maybe you're right.

Tessa, this isn't a Bald Eagle. They have a distinctive pattern and body/wing shape. This is a Buteo hawk species based on shape, a Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis calurus) by range.
