I saw these fungi semi-commonly at Tipituni Biodiversity station near Yasuni National Park in the Amazon Basin in Eastern Ecuador. A translation of a common name is "Bride's Candle" but I cannot remember the scientific name. It is a stink horn and only fruits for about 24 hours.
