Twobanded Japanese Weevil

Pseudocneorhinus bifasciatus

Description:

Good sized weevil with tan coloration. Two darker bands of brown on back. This is a species of Broad-nosed Weevil. It doesn't have the long nose like some other Weevils but a wide short nose that reminds me a bit of a cow nose. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a good picture of this one's nose.

Habitat:

Suburban backyard garden.

Notes:

This is an introduced species to the USA. It is native to China, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, and eastern Siberia (as per bugguide.net).
