Haleakalā silversword

Description:

This plant is a threatened species and you are not suppose to disturber the plants so I did not have the opportunity to feel the plant however it appeared to have sharp pointed leaves. They are a dull silver color. The silversoword has a spherical shape and is a little larger than a basketball. The plant is quite unique and looks like something from a science fiction film.

Habitat:

These interesting plants grow at altitudes above 6,900ft on the small island of Maui. They are found on a mountain named Haleakalā that sits on the most southern part of the island.
