Spotting

Description:

Size of a ladybug, orange and black colour, looks closest to a ladybug anatomically however not in the colour or pattern. The pattern looks like an elephant, complete with eyes, ears, trunk and tusks.

Habitat:

Found this little guy on a Laurus azorica (Seub.) Franco tree.

Notes:

Would love to know what bug this is and if they are beneficial to the garden.
