Flower Crab Spider

Misumena vatia

Description:

This one isn't as bright as most of the white phase crab spiders I've seen this year. (Maybe why I was happy enough with the shot to share it.) The daisies were very abundant this year, and these spiders do love to perch on daisies! They usually hide on the opposite side of the flower when approached with a camera, but this one didn't seem to mind me too much.

Habitat:

I usually find these spiders in open areas with grass and tall flowers -- that's where this one was.
