Japanese macaque

Description:

Brownish grey fur. Pink face. Pink posterior.

Habitat:

Found on the islands of Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu in Japan. Inhabits a range of habitats from subtropical forests to subarctic forests. Warm temperate evergreen and cool temperate broadleaf forests are most significant.

Notes:

For a few days this Japanese macaque has been spotted around the town of Ichinohe-machi in Iwate Prefecture, Japan. Most residents have stated never having seen one here before. Japanese: 日本猿
