White-faced capuchin

Cebus capucinus

Description:

The capuchin monkeys at Manuel Antonio National Park have become so used to humans that they have lost all fear. They make frequent raids on bags left on the beach while their owners' swim, looking for food or anything else that takes their interest. The first image was the reaction I got when I rescued our backpack from one monkey's attention - it's blurred because I took a step backwards while it was shaking the branches & shrieking at me!

Habitat:

Manuel Antonio National Park
