Description:

The Common Hover Fly has black and yellow striped abdomen and looks a bit like a wasp. They are often seen hovering near flowers. They feed on nectar and help to pollinate the flowers.

Thanks Argy and Leanne. I am definitely ready for spring right now - mostly because I'm sick of the cold but also because there doesn't seem to be any bugs around to take photos of ;-)
