Fungiidae

Description:

A white coral hard and rounded shape, about 15cm in diameter, attached to another coral (typical on juvenile specimens).

Habitat:

Spotted at Pulu Cinta - Sulawesi a sandy atoll reef. Fungia is found over much of the West Indo-Pacific region. They typically live in protected reef or lagoon environments on sandy or gravel substrates or on small rock ledges in areas of low to moderate water flow.

Notes:

The juveniles attach themselves to rock but larger individuals detach themselves and become free living. Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Cnidaria Class: Anthozoa Order: Scleractinia Family: Fungiidae Genus: Fungia
