u're welcome!

When I google it I saw the picture and I new it was a Scolopendra, I have seen more here in Costa Rica but very small and young. I will check some more but I am happy with the result.

Alfredo Amoroso ll It looked like a centipede that could cause some damage, I handled it very carefully, and set it free in the wilderness. Thank you so much for the identification.

The Scolopendra Subspinipes was found in Hawaii too , i think it is a Subspinipes because usually these species are black , dark brown or almost silver like this one. Maybe, it could be a Scolopendra Subspinipes Dehaani *

Hello. For starters it is a "centipede" as I mentioned, and you were probably justified in having at least a bit of fear (respect) because many species have a venomous bite. Based on range I don't think it is Scolopendra subspinipes as suggested because I believe that species is from SE Asia. It could be another species the genus Scolopendra because it does occur in Costa Rica from http://crbio.cr/portalCRBio/occurrences/... I don't know enough about it to say what species it might be.

Would really love to know what this is..can anybody ID it??..It just scared me to death when I saw it, it looked so pre-historic, strong and old.
