Bedbug

Cimex lectularius

Description:

This is a Bedbug that i found under the old mattress in my house. Bed bug is flat, oval, almost wingless insect, and this one is about 3 mm long. This reddish-brown bug have moderately long antennae, thin legs, and vestigial wings in the form of stubs. It is a notorious pests, and they can run at surprising speed.

Habitat:

- warm houses, and especially nearby or inside of beds and bedding or other sleep areas.

Notes:

- Bed bugs are parasitic insects of the cimicidae family that feed exclusively on blood. They are elusive and usually nocturnal. At night they hunt for sleeping mammals and birds. Adults have been known to survive without food for a year or more.
