Slug: I went outside in the morning, and I saw a brown slug, resting on a wall, on the outside of my house. The color of this slug, was different shades of brown. This slug, had light blue, optical tentacles. This slug, was two inches long, and three eights of an inch wide. This slug is alive, and able to move. Phylum: Mollusca Class: Gastropoda Slug: a tough-skinned terrestrial mollusk, that typically lacks a shell, and secretes a film of mucus for protection. Slug: slug, or land slug, is a common name for any apparently shell-less terrestrial gastropod Mollusc. The majority of land slugs, have two pair of 'feelers' or tentacles, on there head. The upper pair, is light sensing and has eyespots at the ends, while the lower pair, provides the sense of smell. Both pairs are retractable. Most species of slugs are generalists, feeding on a broad spectrum of organic materials, including leaves from living plants, lichens, mushrooms, and even carrion.Some slugs are predators, and eat other slugs and snails, or earthworms.

Habitat:

Slugs live in decaying plants, mulch, weeds, and yard waste. Slugs also choose moist areas, that are created when plants receive watering or rain, in the late afternoon. Plants that are placed closely together, are more likely to attract slugs, because the soil does not receive enough air, or sunlight, to stay dry. Snails live in range of moist environments, that generally include areas with robust vegetation, like temperate and tropical forests, as well as in aquatic habitats, such as, marshes, ponds, and wetlands. Land-dwelling snails, are often found in gardens and field crops, where vegetation is plentiful, and can be readily consumed.
