Common Mormon caterpillar

Papilio polytes

Description:

This swallowtail butterfly ...the bird-poop - caterpillar will grow into one is known for mimicry (the females have multiple morphs). I guess the trickery training starts early in life.

Habitat:

Growing on Murraya koenigii (Indian Curry Leaf), which have aromatic edible leaves.I use it to temper oil...but guess not now because usually there are many caterpillars munching away during caterpillar season...but today I saw this one and another miniscule one...the rest may not have hatched yet.
