Planta en el mismo genero del maní, se introdujo a Costa Rica como follaje para sembrar en áreas reforestadas y evitar el crecimientos de otras plantas, se conoce como planta de alto valor proteico y fijadora de nitrógeno. This plant in the peanuts genus, it is used in Costa Rica to prevent the weeds in the reforested areas, it also helps by fixing nitrogen in the soils, the plant is also rich in protein.
