Dirty white underside, mottled medium brown back, dark bill; at least and inch long, narrow, legs match bill-longer than backyard bird legs, not as long as most sandpipers. Between 4-6 inches from head to tail. Scours shoreline, peeps rather than call. This one was with a group of about five, others smaller, likely a brood.
