A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Pentidotea aculeata
Small, roughly 1.5 to 2 cm. Is red and slightly translucent. It has 14 legs and a pair of antenna. The underside has little white things in between each segment. It has a smooth surface.
Tide pools on the rocks and algae.
A couple photos were taken on my jacket for better lighting and focus.

Thank you everyone! Beginner's luck ;)
Congratulations on your first spotting on Noah and the first of this species on Noah and BugGuide - very cool!
Very neat!
Agree with Cindy. Just saw the new bugguide pages and read those comments. Super cool spotting Kylie
How exciting! This is the first of this species on both Project Noah and on Bug Guide. Great first spotting :)
Welcome to Project Noah!!!! This would be a great addition to the Southern California Wildlife mission: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/7964... and California Tidepools http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8896.... More information on Missions and other features on our FAQ page: http://www.projectnoah.org/faq
I am fairly certain that it is an Isopod of some kind. As such you can place it in the Arthropods category. Seem similar to Idotea aculeate:

But I don't think it is the same. Are you familiar with bugguide.com? I would encourage you to post your pictures there, on the ID Request tab. The 2 pics on the jacket are superb and I think they would make a great contribution to future web ID attempts.
