Isopod

Pentidotea aculeata

Description:

Small, roughly 1.5 to 2 cm. Is red and slightly translucent. It has 14 legs and a pair of antenna. The underside has little white things in between each segment. It has a smooth surface.

Habitat:

Tide pools on the rocks and algae.

Notes:

A couple photos were taken on my jacket for better lighting and focus.

I am fairly certain that it is an Isopod of some kind. As such you can place it in the Arthropods category. Seem similar to Idotea aculeate:

But I don't think it is the same. Are you familiar with bugguide.com? I would encourage you to post your pictures there, on the ID Request tab. The 2 pics on the jacket are superb and I think they would make a great contribution to future web ID attempts.
