Halcyon smyrnensis

Description:

Medium sized kingfisher which likes to spend a long time on it's tree perch waiting for fish to surface and also takes small insects and small reptiles as prey. Makes nest by digging a long tunnel in earthen banks.

Habitat:

Spotted near my home.
