A coarse red texture on the cap with a continuous veil over the pores. These specimens appear to be young. The yellow hymenium stains black.

I agree with Vlad but there are very few records of Boletellus around Cairns. BronwynKing has B ananas up there. I think she's on BB.
There would be three Bolletelus species to choose from: Boletellus ananas, Boletellus ananiceps, and Boletellus dissiliens, but I think only the last one turns dark blue when bruised.If you look them up you might find the right one. P.S.I'm not that good with Australian mushrooms.
