Just on dusk as I was coming down from watching the sunset atop of one of the archeological ruins, this fox came walking through the ceremonial grounds in the center of the park. It looks like this fox has a botfly on it's below its ear.

In the heart of the jungle, surrounded by lush vegetation, Tikal is one of the largest archaeological sites and urban centres of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization, inhabited from the 6th century B.C. to the 10th century A.D. It is located in the archaeological region of the Petén Basin in what is now northern Guatemala.
