Description:

Highly patterned snake with tan background and black blotches. Head is often reddish in color. May reach lengths up to 5 feet.

Habitat:

wetlands

Notes:

Until 2011 this species was listed as threatened in Missouri. After addiitonal populations were discovered, it was removed from that list.
