Indian Cucumber

Medeola virginiana

Description:

A beautifully strange plant which seems to grow singly as a species, as there weren't any others around. It was about a foot and a half tall. It had three leaves on the upper portion of the plant and six leaves on the bottom portion. Both had a base color of white with green tint, and the top seemed to have a flowery appearance.

Habitat:

Woodlands near Sebago Lake.

Notes:

Taken at the beginning of a hike of Douglas Mountain.
