It's never too late, I also fear the future in some ways, but as I'm traveling through the country of Slovakia and see all the amazing nature they have, I get the feeling that it's not so bad :) However, we could always do things better.
I agree but here people seem to have embraced plastic with a vengeance...education has nothing to do with it...we have jute...coconut fiber bags but rarely do I see people use those...and discarded plastic is everywhere and then they burn it...I can only answer for myself...but I fear we may have left it too late.
I'm currently in Slovakia and yes I despair as well, there's too many people that just throw away plastic anywhere. The ancient forest I was camping in for two weeks had also a lot of glass bottles and plastic in the ditches. And that's a shame. Though it was cleaner than most places I've seen. I try to pick up some of what I see, but I can't spend all day picking up trash. If just everybody did a little bit, the world would be plastic-free. I'm still optimistic, a lot of people are waking up :)
