Black Knot Fungus

Description:

When young, dull olive-green that blackens with age. Hard and generally cylindrical fungus; tapered, clublike, or irregularly lumpy. Ugly and I think they stink too.

Habitat:

Dead and living twigs and branches of plumb and cherry trees.
