Camelus dromedarius

Description:

The dromedary camel is arguably the best-known member of the camel family.The Dromedary has one hump on its back, in contrast to the Bactrian camel which has two.

Habitat:

It is usually found in dry desert places where there is little availability of drinking water. India Camel is mostly found in the North Western part of India.They are also spotted in the Kaziranga and Desert National Park.

Notes:

Camels are being used on Rajasthan border by Border Security Force.
