Mouse-Eared Bat

Myotis sp.

Description:

And now for something different - for me, at least. I found this small bat sleeping, hanging from a branch in the woods, 3 meters (10 feet) from the ground. It was around 10 to 12 cm long, and was very calm, even when I came close to it, with my light ring on (I was sorry to disturb it, but there wasn't much light among the trees. Anyway, I was prepared to go away at any signal of annoyance). Looks like my Xmas gift arrived one day late, but it was well worth the wait! :-)

Love bats! It is so fun to find one where you can get a picture. Your 4th picture is my favorite. Voracious little bug-eater!

"Sergio Monteiro", Estou na dúvida que talvez seja "Myotis albescens" [ http://morcegosdobrasil.blogspot.com.br/... ] ou "Myotis nigricans" [ http://morcegosdobrasil.blogspot.com.br/... ]
