Galanthus nivalis

Description:

Small white pendant flowers ~ 3 cm long.

Habitat:

Pacific northwest suburban area.

Notes:

Spotted at the edge of a sidewalk in a front lawn. On a side note, many plants have flowered in mid-February. Spring came early to Portland this year.

That's cool. I haven't heard of that variety, but I'm always happy to see snowdrops because they make me believe that spring will be coming soon!

Thanks Jes. I agree and I've updated the spotting. In digging around, I thought that this might be a Sam Arnott variety, but the more digging I did, the less sure I became, because in most cases the named varieties do not seem to me to have any obvious differences in appearance.
