Jemma, so many wonderful memories of California…..I was born in Oakland, grew up on a cattle ranch out past Clayton on Mt. Diablo, went to High School in Concord, Community College in Concord, San Jose State U and then UC Berkeley for my doctorate. Lived in Freemont too. My grandparents lived in Walnut Creek and my family lives now in Lodi. Friends everywhere there in the Bay Area. My son is now in Santa Barbara studying Marine Biology. Did you also grow up in the Bay Area? I loved the ranch where I grew up, I think it is part of a protected area now.

Thanks Lauren! What other memories do you have of your stay here?

So neat that you found one of their acorn stuffed trees! I found a telephone pole once completely stuffed with acorns. I've never forgotten it (Clayton, California).
