Giant Puffball

Description:

Large White Fungi..what your seeing is a giant puffball, there was one smaller one nearby about the size of two softballs, this one was as large as a Basketball. Also nearby is a picture of a slightly discolored one but it was equally as large as the basketball size on just not as round, more oval in shape and closer to the ground.

Habitat:

Deciduous Hardwood Forest with surrounding marsh. Tamarac NWR.

Notes:

Carol N. was along on this spotting and she stood next to the fungus to show her shoe size compared to that actual organism.
