Giant Forest Ant

Camponotus gigas

Description:

One of the largest ant species to inhabit southeast Asia. Although mostly nocturnal this worker was most likely out foraging for honey dew, the main component of their diet.

Habitat:

Native to Rainforest throughout South East Asia, this species often makes its nests on the forest floor.
