Volucella pellucens
A big fly (15-20 mm) that lives in hardwoods and garden visiting many kind of flowers; both wild and cultured. Adults are seen from june to september.
Larvas develops in nests of common wasps (Vespa vulgata).
Camera: Pentax K5 + 100mm/2.8 macro.
