Artocarpus heterophyllus
The jackfruit is a tall tree that has broad leaves and large fruit. The trunk of the tree is rough and has thick vine like branches coming out of it to support the massive weight of the fruit. The fruit its self is very large and grows to be many kilograms. The skin of this fruit has an adaptation that ,like Durian, is spiky. On top of these spikes there is a little black hair like structure that helps to protect the seeds inside
This tree was fairly tall and took its part in Singapore American School's rainforest canopy. It had a little distance between other big trees but they were not far away. The tree was also surrounded by saplings.
