Coulter Pine (Widowmaker)

Pinus coulteri

Large heavy pine cone 6-8" long and almost as wide. Lots of sap large 1" seeds Tree about 30-40 ft tall

sierra foothills about 2000'asl

I was thinking Digger Pine or Pinus sabiniana, but thanks to a suggestion and then a web search for pixs.... The widowmaker is correct. And the nickname fits.... those points are sharp, strong, and the pinecone is heavy
