Leodonta cf. tellane chiriquensis
Kim Garwood has confirmed the genus, is not sure about the exact species. I did a re-search and think it is more Tellane than Dysoni, due to the trapezoid-like 3rd patch on the forewing. I think the ID with the cf. is a valuable compromise.
I slightly would tend to Tellane, due to the markings and I try to get a confirmation/correction by an expert...
Pieridae (!), Pierinae, Leodonta sp., there are only 2 species from Leodonta reported from Costa Rica Leodonta tellane chiriquensis and Leodonta dysoni. Unfortunately I cannot tell you exactly which one it is. What a pity you have not another shot of this uncommon and probably rare butterfly!!
