Bighorn Sheep

Ovis canadensis

Description:

We saw as sign warning about bighorns on the road, and sure enough, when we rounded the next corner there they were. There were quite a few licking salt off the road, and a few more up on the hill. They casually started to wander off as we got closer, and we passes maybe 5 feet from the big male there.

Habitat:

Up where the mountains are steep.
