Found a cool looking moth, and decided to take some pics. ! :)
I was also thinking the Rustic Sphinx, Manduca rustica, yet I could not see the orangish markings on the abdomen characteristic of that species. http://bugguide.net/node/view/175048
If you saw orange when/if you saw it fly away, I'd go with M. rustica.
