Description:

In a small inlet called Cunningham Inlet, on Somerset Island, Arctic Watch Lodge, roughly 2000 whales congregate in the inlet. We were working with researchers from Mystic Aquarium, who were studying the whales. This group of adult whales were right on the edge of the river, constantly "rubbing" on the bottom of the riverbed, where the river met the ocean. Roughly 5-6 animals kept doing this, for about an hour. There were about 300 whales in the river during this event.
