Description:

This riverside bird is about the size of a turkey, and its exact ancestry has not been determined yet. "The word “Hoatzin” was used for the bird by indigenous peoples in the Brazilian Amazon and can be roughly translated as 'pheasant'."

Habitat:

Amazon jungle, in vegetation along rivers.
