Redroot Wild Buckwheat

Eriogonum racemosum

Description:

Red-root wild buckwheat is a compact, few-branched perennial with oblong, basal leaves and slender, 6-12 in. flowering stems terminated by racemes of white to pink, tubular flowers. The plant has been growing all summer. It has been really dry all summer, just had the first rain in months and the plant is in full flower.

Dry hillside in Utah
