Description:

Juniper Haircap Moss growing on stone wall. Forms dense deep mounds. Leaves are sharply toothed along edges. wool lacking on the P. juniperium bottom of the leaf stem. Appearance : blue green or dark green, waxy, upright, unbranched plants, typically 2-8 cm tall, superficially resembling juniper tree seedlings growing in patches.

Habitat:

Disturbed soil, often on crusts of soil over rocks, or in sandy, open places such as trails or in fields.
