Description:

Mature males have distictive mane which can either be tan or black once older. Rest of the body is tan in colour on the top and white stomach area with a black tiped tail. Females lack the mane but are the same in colour on body.

Habitat:

Historically have always occured in the African savanna, Kalahari, as well as a few patches in India. But now can be found in other habitats within Africa and around the world.

Notes:

This male is of about 5-7 yrs old as you can see by the black in the mane as well as the hair under his armpits. This male is in a coalition with another male and they hold quite a large terrritory in the Sabi Sands.
