Please help me identify this creature I met a while ago..It has a colorful back like a jewel bug when I searched over the net, I found some clues and seems like it belongs to the shield bug family. any one who can tell me the real name and family of this?

Hi karen! Thanks for commenting.. Yes I noticed that it discharges a foul smell the moment It was disturbed . its my first time to see it and I got curious what this insect was, the color is really amazing. :)
Here in the US, we'd call that a "stink bug"- if you make these insects annoyed, they make a very bad smell! Is yours the same? Yours is a lot prettier than any here that I've seen!
