St.Andrews Cross Spider

Argiope mangal

Description:

A very cool spider, as it hides 1/2 of it's legs behind the other. I couldn't get to close to this guy, but it is around 20-30 cm long. I found it within a nestle of leaves. I thinking it was hanging around there looking for things to eat, while also resting. It has a bit of camouflage as it looks like a branch, or something behind it.

Habitat:

Singapore American School Secondary Tropical Forest

Notes:

It blends in with the background.
