Monarch chrysalis

Description:

Chrysalis formed from caterpillar collected in our school garden.

Habitat:

Caterpillar was found on milkweed plant in school garden. Students brought it & a bunch of milkweed inside 2 days ago.

Notes:

I had looked one hour before the pic was taken and the caterpillar had just started to hang - one class period later - chrysalis formed! I have HS seniors and they are as excited as 5 year olds about this :)
