Spotting

Description:

Purple flower, purple leaves. I noticed some older-looking plants (presumably of the same type) near by with green leaves. Could this be a variation, morph, or earlier stage?

Habitat:

Open fields.

It is likely just getting ready to drop the leaves and the coloration is a natural sign of aging in this plant.
