Phelsuma ornata
A beautiful gecko which is active during the day (Diurnal). it feeds on insects and nectar and maintains small territories on tree trucks and walls. It was observed on this occasion displaying to a smaller male that was climbing up the wall towards it. It lay on its side to display its back colours and flicked its tongue. Shortly afterwards it turned its face to the camera and smiled.
Only Mauritius and surrounding islands
