A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Erithacus rubecula
One of the most popular and easily recognizable birds, distinguished by its striking orange patch on the chest, throat and face. In winter it is very common in almost any environment, including parks and gardens; but in spring it preferably breeds in cool places. It is territorial, both in winter and in summer, and very often it can be seen among the bushes or on the ground while looking for insects.
